Never Enough

We still had our fully booked Italy vacation coming up the day after our breakup. My Ex asked me to postpone the bookings, which wasn’t possible at this point. She offered me to go alone, which I had zero interest in. I offered her to go alone, because the whole trip was a gift to her. She said that she isn’t able to travel on her own in her current mental state.

She suggested that we travel together as friends, not as a couple. I didn’t like the idea. We couldn’t travel as friends, only as an ex-couple. My single biggest mistake of our whole relationship was to agree nonetheless. The trip turned out to be painful and traumatizing. For the time being, I opt not to write about it, and to end my story prematurely. I might continue it some other day.
